Documotive experience high demand at HITEX, 22.10.08

22 October 2008: Participation at Tuesday’s HITEX (Housing and Information Technology Exhibition), which was held at the National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull, proved highly successful for Birmingham based document management company, Documotive.

The Northern Housing Consortium’s annual HITEX show, now in its twelfth year, provides an excellent opportunity for key decision makers to view a vast range of IT services and products which are available to the social housing sector. The show is held for four days in venues around the country including York, Wigan and Solihull with the final day taking place at Wembley stadium.

The roadshow, sponsored by Inside Housing, typically attracts over 30 exhibitors in each leg of its journey to Wembley. Delegates have the chance to view all of the latest developments in the marketplace under one roof with specialists on hand to offer advice and in-depth information on all of the products and services on offer.

Documotive exhibited in all four venues, but the Solihull show was particularly pertinent to the company following its recent relocation to Birmingham from Stockport.

Sales Director, Davinder Sanghera, comments:

‘Since relocating to Birmingham three months ago, Documotive has gone from strength to strength. The Solihull HITEX was particularly successful for us and we will be following a number of leads generated as a direct result of Tuesday’s show. We are fortunate in the current climate that the social housing sector in which we operate has been relatively unaffected by issues in the wider economy. There is still a high demand for technology which improves both the customer service experience for tenants and introduces smarter ways of working for employees.’

Documotive experienced a high volume of interest in the EPC Surveys system which enables social landlords to become fully compliant with new legislation introduced on October 1st requiring all social housing to carry Energy Performance Certificates. The Documotive technology greatly reduces the time taken in obtaining an energy rating and the cost saving implications of the Docuforms system are substantial. The mobile solution enables a surveyor to enter all data into a handheld PDA on site and generate an instant rating. The EPC Surveys system has already been taken on board by Merseyside based Helena Partnerships, to great success.

Documotive offers a host of innovative software solutions aimed at streamlining the social housing sector’s document and process management. The company also provides a fully-managed scanning service for legacy documents which includes recycling all of the paper. Once scanned all documents are stored securely within the Documotive system for easy retrieval directly from any line of business system such as Housing, Finance or HR, therefore bringing the concept of the paperless office one step closer. The company has a green approach to reducing the use of paper whilst recycling existing documents which is a big plus for the environment whilst providing a more effective way for organisations to manage and deliver information.

The company offers a complete range of integrated solutions to manage documents and processes across all areas of an organisation including document scanning services, data collection applications, remote access for mobile workers and finance and HR packages. The patented technology uses Intelligent Character Recognition which enables handwritten forms to be scanned and analysed digitally. Existing data can be inserted into relevant fields, reducing the need for information to be repeated and greatly improving response rates for tenant surveys etc.
